Jesus begat Snoop Dogg, Sienna Miller.

(click ads to read the tongue-in-cheek blasphemy)
This year's Catholic Church sponsored World Youth Day will be held in Sydney from July 15-20th. And in a laughable effort to help promote the gathering and to show youths how straight bangin' cool Christianity is, Marie Claire Australia is running the above ads deifying Snoop and Sienna (here's a third non-celebrity ad). Sienna Miller? Really? Playing Edie Sedgwick does not make one cool. Anyway, the two join Axl Rose and Kurt Cobain in my growing archive of false celeb ad idols.

Nice. And the Pope has declared it a crime for women to be Priests. Mixed message, anyone?

It's typical of church publications aimed at youth (any church) that they always appear as if they are trying too hard to be cool. There's little appeal in appearing desperate and kids usually see right through these things.
Forget about 'cool' and show the youth what it is you think you have to offer. Don't ask me, I am not into God. But 'keep it real' and don't be 'frontin' like this.
