Link Haze, 2/01/08.

Here's my Super Bowl ad coverage: all the spots will suck. I won't be watching. I prefer the beautiful game (and ice hockey). Click the link to read the one time I "live-blogged" the BIG game. (link)
newyorkshitty is simply the best site documenting quirky life in Brooklyn. Here's a taste, just from the last week: have fun trying to make a payphone call in Buskwick (link) Cloverfield monster vs. Sta-Puft marshmallow man (link) gnomes and pine cones (?) hanging from power lines (link)
In the tradition of Spy, Radar ranks the 10 dumbest fools on Capitol Hill. (link)
This is a good explanation as to why it's better to be a working stiff in NYC than any other U.S. city. (link)

An actual good laundry detergent spot outta the UK featuring a mascot called the Cheer Laundress. (link)
The VW van turns 60. Here's some commemorative ads. (link)
The 4As has a woman president! Maybe, like states apologizing for slavery, she should publicly apologize for the ad industry's shoddy diversification record. (link)
Offering $44 billion for Yoo-Hoo almost makes more sense than offering it to a company whose 4th quarter profits were down 23%. (link)
Ex-Staples marketing exec used Easy Button to embezzle $600,000. (link)
Walmart, through signage, tests how stupid its shoppers are. (link)
Is Mike Huckabee Campbell's new TV ad soup chef? (link)
The fake Goldman trader chases the ultimate piece of ass—the "Jasian." (link)
Finally, this is the sickest, funniest ebay auction you will ever read about. (link)

Sometimes you walk around thinking you're pretty clever and capable of some fairly inspired mischief. Then this ebay auction comes along and reminds you that you are still but a journeyman.
